Woodside Energy has signed a co-operation agreement with the Timor-Leste government that could allow the Greater Sunrise gas project in the Timor Sea to proceed. The deal with Timor-Leste's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources includes undertaking technical and commercial studies with a view to developing LNG facilities on Timor's south coast. Woodside had long advocated processing Greater Sunrise gas at an existing plant in Darwin, arguing that developing such infrastructure in Timor would be costly and economically challenging..
