BBVA has made its conversational app accessible to ChatGPT users, enabling direct access to information on the bank's products and services in Italy and Germany.
BBVA is one of the first financial institutions to offer its own app within ChatGPT, one of the world's most widely used conversational assistants.
The application is designed to handle informational inquiries, allowing ChatGPT users to explore BBVA's offerings in both countries by asking questions in natural language, simply and intuitively, without leaving ChatGPT. Through the application, users can view and compare , among other content, account terms, card types, and savings products available at the Group's digital banks in Italy and Germany . The chat also provides direct links to these products on the bank's website.
BBVA anticipates that this experience will gradually evolve into a digital companion that helps people make sound financial decisions through simple, personalized, conversational interaction.
With this launch, BBVA takes another step in integrating digital banking with conversational artificial intelligence , opening the door to new forms of interaction between financial services and AI, and reinforcing its commitment to being present on the channels where customers already interact . "Our digital banks in Italy and Germany continue to lead the way in innovation. Being available directly on ChatGPT means moving towards a more natural, accessible banking experience that is perfectly integrated into people's daily lives," said Murat Kalkan , Global Head of Digital Banks at BBVA.
The initiative is part of the strategic collaboration between BBVA and OpenAI , which has positioned the bank among the most advanced institutions in the adoption of generative artificial intelligence. This collaboration includes the co-creation of AI-based solutions to build a radically new financial services offering focused on the customer and to drive a more productive and efficient operating model.
How to access the BBVA app in ChatGPT
Available only in Italian and German for customers accessing ChatGPT from Italy or Germany.
Customers can access the BBVA app through this link or by searching for it in the 'Applications' section within ChatGPT (located in the top left of the screen in the desktop version and in the top left menu in the mobile application).
Next, they will be asked to connect the BBVA app to their ChatGPT experience.
After completing this step, users can begin interacting with BBVA by accessing the app directly within the conversation. For example, users can ask questions by mentioning the app and typing their query, enabling a smooth and conversational interaction , such as: '@BBVA App What are the advantages of a BBVA account?' Alternatively, users can select the BBVA app from the plus (+) symbol in the chat text field before sending their question.
The BBVA app will provide a personalized response and the customer will be able to explore the different functionalities of the application: personalized response, explore other products and related questions and answers that other customers have made.
